Week #33: Importance of Short Notes for Quick Revision

Dear Aspirants,

How has the past week been for you? Were you able to meet your own expectations with regards to your prep?

With less than four weeks left for the Mains 2022, most aspirants who are giving the exam might have got into the revision mode. While I am not writing the exam this year, I did sit for a while to think about the emotions that must be running through those who would be writing.

I believe that the most important asset for every aspirant at this stage would be their own short notes on every topic in the syllabus. Short notes helps you to:

  • Revise multiple times especially before the exam

  • Give you sense of covering the vast syllabus

  • Interlink topics within the syllabus

Some toppers have suggested to maintain a factbook for each GS paper. This can help you in:

  • Writing Introduction and Conclusion

  • Make your answer less generic and more specific

  • Differentiate your points from the rest

I am not going to breakdown the process of making notes. I assume that you would have already watched a number of videos about this. In case my assumption is wrong, and you want me to share my thoughts, hit a reply and I will share one article about the same.

This note is reminder to invest your time well to make the notes that will give you the highest return for all the mock exams and even the final exams.

My Weekly Quiz Scores - 50 MCQs per day

My Scores for this week have been quite bad. I plan to retake all the quizzes where I scored less than 60%. Will share these revision scores also in the coming week. For me the scores of current affairs quizzes have been quite bad. I need to focus on this aspect.

In addition to doing the daily quizzes, it is important that we take time to analyze our performance and take corrective steps coupled with regular revision.

That is all for this week! All the very best for Week #34

See you again next Monday :)
