hey there!! long time no post ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿผ

restarting an old habit of writing

Dear Reader,

How have you been doing?

If you are receiving this, you might remember a time when I would send a weekly update about my prep. Then for a couple of reasons, I stopped it in Dec 2022.

After a lot of thinking, I have decided to restart sharing posts via this blog.

What would the posts be about?

I look at this blog as a digital journal for my prep.

I share some insights from my preparation. Things that worked well for me. Mistakes I have made along the way (so that you can avoid ๐Ÿ˜…). I share things that excite me - an interesting story, a touching poem or just some memes.

It could also be some pictures from the places I travel or the people I meet.

I share about the MCQs I solved in the previous week. This acted as a system of public accountability for me. You can solve along and share how your progress has been.

Why am I restarting this?

The best that happened to me in 2022 was I learned to break free from my inhibition to write and share publicly. Then again the urge to write perfect lines crept in and there has been silence.

So this is my effort to hit the publish button and stop waiting for the perfect lines. It is a way to remind myself that we get better by accepting our imperfections and practising more. Below is a link to an article I had written long back.

What am I going to prep in the coming week?

I am currently working at a firm that is engaged in rural development work. My UPSC prep is going on parallelly. In the coming week, my focus will be on

  • reading the newspaper and making notes on a daily.

  • completing at least 30 MCQs for each day, and

  • writing at least one answer per day for my optional subject (public administration).

Putting out this well ahead of the week is my way of making a tentative schedule. It is also a small challenge to stick with a task I have decided.

So that is the end of this post. I do try and reply to as many emails as possible.

How has your prep been going? Is there some specific topic, you would want me to write about?

Best wishes with your prep, โญ๏ธ

Satya
