5 Similarities between Cooking a meal and Answer writing

My guess is that you either love to cook or love to eat food! Am I right?

5 Similarities between Cooking a meal and Answer writing

Yesterday afternoon, I tried to cook Masala Oats for lunch. I tried some new ingredients like Garlic, Jeera and some groundnut powder. The final result was so good that I was amazed. As I began relishing my lunch, it made me think of the similarities between cooking and writing answers. So here you go... (FYI - I am learning to Cook and I am not a Pro like some of you )

#1 When a customer asks for Veg Biryani, don’t serve Chicken Biryani

If you are a Danish Sait fan, you would have heard his famous prank call where a Vegetarian is served Non-Veg. This is the exact problem when we fail to understand the demand of the question.

#2 The variety of Ingredients can give the “Wah” effect for the customer

An answer without facts, examples and statistics is equivalent to a tomato soup without salt, pepper and probably even tomato. Don't give the reader (examiner) a bland dish to savour.

#3 Two cooks with the same ingredients can make different delicacies

Your originality must be expressed through your style of interlinking facts. Bring in some relevant concepts from your graduation subject, your optional paper or your work experience to differentiate your answer.

#4 Garnishing is a must as the first impression matters a lot

Imagine a 50-page answer book without diagrams or graphs written at the speed of the Shatabdi train. Unless it is a new book by J.K Rowling, I would lose interest. Humans are wired to perceive more information visually. Garnish your answers with diagrams and graphs.

#5 Cooking is an art and gets better with more practice and feedback

The Journey of a Master Chef is studded with burnt meals, missed ingredients and critical feedback. The more often you write, the greater your chances of making more mistakes and learning from them. Each day try to make new mistakes.

How did you like this dish of mine? Do share your feedback! I would love to hear from you :)
